KOGI GUN ATTACK- BEYOND THE POLITICS

Gunmen opened fire on a Deeper Life Bible Church at Otite, Okenne, Kogi State on Monday August 6, 2012, during an evening service killing 15 persons on the spot and five others have died subsequently on their hospital beds.

Front page of “The Punch” newspaper of Wednesday, August 8, 2012, has a picture of Governor of Kogi State, Idris Wada, in a bulletproof vest, holding a microphone and talking to a woman who is on a sick bed, presumably one of the injured victims of the attack at the Okenne General Hospital, Kogi. The Governor had visited injured victims of the attack at Okenne General Hospital on Tuesday, August 7, 2012.
I don’t want to believe that Governor Idris Wada didn’t think of the image he will create by entering the hospital dressed in a visible bulletproof vest to visit injured victims of the shooting.
Can someone please ask the governor and his aides?
Why was he wearing a bulletproof vest? Or maybe just like President GEJ “He doesn’t give a damn” about the other mortals beside him and in Kogi state.  Is he implying that everyone should start going around with bullet proof vests?
Why was he using a microphone? Is it that the injured victims need noise? Why did the hospital authorities allow him and his entourage into the hospital with a microphone? Maybe press briefing beside a sick bed is antidote to gun shot wounds.  What is the place of peace, quiet and rest in a hospital environment?
MY GROUSE
Why would a governor go to the hospital wear a bullet proof and decide to have a press conference using a microphone beside a sick bed!!!
The governor of Kogi State, I am sure is educated and is aware that hospitals demand the highest level of decorum, cleanliness and silence. Did he ever think of the discomfort of the injured victims and other patients in the hospital?
I think the picture is a “no-no” for the governor’s reputation.  At best he could have worn the vest as an undergarment, had his press briefing outside the confines of the hospital. Which kain show of “superiority” is this, so he doesn’t want to die abi? It’s like mocking the victims of the shooting.
The picture depicts selfishness, fear and is a classic example of man’s insensitivity to man.
