PAPA SYKIK, COLLEAGUES AND OTHER MATTERS

These past few weeks I have been bombarded left, right and centre by family, friends and acquaintance on my TTC. Everyone wants to help and it feels good to be loved.
Everyone seems to think they know the best gynaecologist in town who has the solution. It’s crazy, imagine getting contact details of gynaecologists from 3 persons every other week … …..kilode……I have been invited to several church programmes on fruitfulness. By the way, why is it only women who are asked to come out for prayers when Pastors want to pray for those “seeking the fruit of the womb”…..I believe it is stigmatization.
Anyways I understand everyone’s concern and willingness to help but hello, excuse me,….I cant keep changing gynaecologist like I am changing shoes…..…habatically,
A colleague’s wife is pregnant and I found out he has told everyone except Sykik….like seriously, who in the world does he think I am? A pregnancy eater or party spoiler? I was upset when he started stuttering on why he hasn’t told me……. when his wife gives birth nko?
Kai, this TTC situation na “endurance trek”.  The truth is as much as I love to have my own children, I don’t begrudge anyone their precious “bundle of joy”,  I don’t weep or become miserable when I hear that someone is pregnant, absolutely no, yea, it may remind me of my frailty but I don’t go about with a long face or mourn like my world has ended, h*ll no, I believe in rejoicing with those who rejoice…after all a child is a gift from God and I know some day, it will be my season of rejoicing.
Papa Sykik’s own is even on a different level even though I am sure that if I look closely, it is the voice of Jacob, hand of Esau scenario……... Hubby and I believe Mama Sykik is the hand of Esau in this drama.
I received this phone call some weeks back
Papa Sykik: Hello, dear, I have been praying about something for a while and I would like to talk to you and your husband about it
Sykik:   what is it?
Papa Sykik: Ehm…God will answer our prayers, I don’t want you worrying, I have asked around from some Doctors and God has led me to handle it this way. There’s a respected gynaecologist I would like you to meet
Sykik: “rolling my eyes”, I have a Gynaecologist and I am good. Thank you
Papa Sykik: Sykik, I have a leading in my spirit, let me handle this
Sykik: “trying hard not to burst out laughing”, okay, talk to Hubby about it

  1. You are so funny Sykik and I truly believe this is REALLY who you are and you are not putting it on and that can only be God. And it is the same God that will give you your hearts desire in Jesus name. Amen. You are right, I have no clue why the mgms are never invited to the fruit of the womb prayer meetings either....but then I guess it is the women who have the wombs, right?

Nothing is impossible for God ....but I would like to share something with you if you like....do inbox me at abimbolaen@yahoo.com if you don't mind...

Fear not, it is not the name or number of a Gyni. *smiling*

Lol@ the colleague who was stammering out his explanation.

I really believe nothing is impossible with God. I really don't have the answers to why we sometimes pass through but I know there is a special blessing with our names on it on the other side.

  5. Wow! Your attitude can only be God really. I love that you are not letting it get you down.

People need to know that because you don't have something you want - Yet - doesnt mean you are not grateful for what you have now and doesn't also mean one would be bitter about it.

I def saw the humor in this and God will answer you. Amen.

    1. Thank you my Dear, I just want to be treated normally, people should be free to talk about their pregnancies and children when around women who TTC. It's somehow when discussion changes when you walk into the midst of mothers.

TTC no be virus, it's just a phase.

  9. Hahaha, Papa Sykik just be like my very dear Mama Jhazmyn, but the truth is we know that at the end of the day, this people love us in their own way. We could help them though. Immediately my friend and sis got married I warned them that If i heard about their pregnancies from elsewhere, they were in big trouble (since I had been waiting for almost 2 years), and that helped us a great deal.

As for the parents aspect...when you learn how to deal with that, please buzz me o, I BEG YOU. One would think that after the first time, my mama would give it a rest...mba o, she still called me recently saying "we need to talk, its been a year plus since u started TTC for ur 2nd", and it was like we were back to square one....lol.

I love you though, I love your heart, I love your spirit...and I know, It'll work out for your good...big hugs

  10. Lol @ Papa Sykik, its all love.

I personally don't talk about pregnancy around my friends who are TTC as I think its just going to make them sad. There are many more things to talk about. But its not like i'll keep quiet or change topic when they come in or something.

Haha @ only the women being prayed for, I wrote a post about that recently.

It is well....This phase is almost over.

    Plenty kisses.

    1. women are getting pregnant daily, it's a natural process of life.

I wish churches will ask that the men come out with their wives to show support ......it tells a lot.

  11. Na wa o. This 'waiting' thing shaaa. I know your story will have a great ending.

  12. Sykik,

I have no idea what TTC means, but you do bring up an interesting point: why are women the only ones prayed for/talked to concerning the fruit of the womb?

Waiting is the hardest part. Not just for babies, but for life in general. I'm confident that you'll have your own babies. And thanks to medical advancements sef, there are other alternatives now.

  13. Sykik Dearie,

Girl, your sense of humour is on another level. We all get love from our parents in differents shades and colours... The wait is over for I know God will surprise you shortly and show you that He is still in the business of answering prayers on a level that is exceedingly, abundantly above what you could ever ask for, hope for, imagine, think about.
I have put on my dancing shoes in preparation of your "ijo ope"

As for your colleague, he probably didn't understand you.

Keep your head up girl.... your story has changed already!

  14. By the time I got to the end of this post, I was just laughing. I don't have so many referrals by I say Amen to all the prayers which I get a lot of :)

  15. lol. I like the attitude you are going with and God will bless you richly for that. Like you said, rejoice with those who rejoice and your day of rejoicing won't be too far away. As for your colleague.. it is usually a tricky situation because you never know how people will react and he probably thought he did the right thing. Truth is, either way you would have found out one day.

sending you hugs as always! xx
