A Peep into My Heart

LINGERING THOUGHTS
What shall I offer unto you?
You own all
The earth is yours and the fullness thereof
Lord, mould me
Fill my mouth with laughter and my heart with praise
Cos your mercies are ever new, they are like rays of light
Shining brighter and brighter

GOD
God is faithful
Ever sure and true
God is loving
Tenderly healing hearts
God is merciful
Fighting battles
God is God
Bigger than imagination

NEED
I need you more than anything
I need you to strengthen my faith
My hope like rays light flutters
I need you God, I need you

SIX YEARS STRONG

I read a post on http://thenitty-grittytalesofahousewife.blogspot.com/2012/03/bitter-truthmarch-25th.html?showComment=1332921828595#c933304451533851752 that reminded me of what the bible means when Prophet Jeremiah declares, "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? Jeremiah 17:9

My wedding day was just like any other girls dream day. The gifts we got were all stashed in a room awaiting further prayers. The gifts had been prayed upon at the venue of the reception; however, we had gotten strict instructions not to open them ourselves.

Some weeks after, the Pastor came around to help open the gifts. He asked for a trash bag and told us to go into the living room to wait for him. I heard him praying but I didn’t pay any attention to it. He’s a Pastor right, that’s what he does best.

Say about 45 minutes after, he called out and asked my husband to bring a knife and come join him. Some two minutes after, my husband comes out looking for the first aid box, am like what’s going on? He says don’t bother………. Don’t bother kini…………. I tagged along quick quick . What I saw……..the Pastor’s right thumb was dangling and bleeding…….. beside him was the trash bag filled with all sorts of cowries, gourds, red clothes , e.t.c. it reminded me of a babalawo shrine. I freaked out big time.

My hubby led me back to the living room and explained that there was a particular gift that had this fetish looking item tied to it. The Pastor tried pulling and cutting but it didn’t come off. He prayed on it and when he tried cutting it again, the knife not only cut the string holding the item but also cut the Pastors right thumb. As in……. no one could explain how the knife he was holding with his right hand turned around and cut him oh. It almost got the thumb off the hand.

In fact, I declared all the gifts persona non grata. I didn’t want to have anything to do with them at all. I began “operation wedding gifts must go”.

I still marvel at how a wedding that was witnessed by our family members, friends and well wishers could have frenemies in attendance as well. Why would anyone wish or plan to harm me or my hubby still beats me till date. While everyone was smiling, dancing and wishing us well with their mouths, there were some whose hearts had planned evil, who had devised in their hearts and bought and brought gifts to harm us.

It’s still unbelievable.

Anyways, to those frenemies who are still wandering how and why their juju à la wedding gift never worked………. Job 5:12 says “He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise”.

Psalm 121: 4 “Behold, he that keepeth Sykik shall neither slumber nor sleep”.

This Easter Sunday makes it Six Strong Seasons when we exchanged vows. Year after year, it has always been better.

I dare to Hope

Faith as tiny as a mustard seed

That’s all I need to move mountains

God, here’s my faith

Let it move mountains

I dare to HOPE

One day at a time

That’s how the months roll by

Let me manifest your awesomeness

At the Master’s feet, in total surrender

That you alone art the MIRACLE worker

Make me a mother and my husband a father of children
